is there any chance somekind person could eplain the bidding on hand 2?
I am not familiar with 5cM an was wondering what all the bids meant.

Hand 2
Bidding
1S = I have opening bid with 5+S
2C = I have probebly 5C with 11+ points ( assuming not 2/1 GF )
2S = I have 6S
3D = I have atleast 5C and 4D =GF NB responders reverse is forcing to game in anyones system!
3NT = I have Hs stopped and no primary support for your suits eg 6322 or 6331
4C = slam try in C
5c I have dobleton C and minimum hand
6S I have S honour and may fill your 6card S suit possibly a try for 7C

When Partner plays JD then 8 he is showing J1098, when he plays 2H heis showing count, probibly 5 on the bidding
Hope this helps!
Good luck blink.gif

when do the answers to the bridge problems need to be in?

Reformed Englishman- 03-17-2004
you couldn't post the leaderboard could u?

David- 03-17-2004
Hi Craig/Alex.

The competition entries need to be emailed to Catherine by Sunday night. The answers and marks are posted on a Monday.

The leaderboard is posted in the 'general discussion' forum and updated each week when I get a chance.

This may be totally irrelevant but i'll ask anyway:

On the first trick in hand 1 what heart does declarer play? the 6 or the 2?

David- 03-19-2004
i think it is totally irrelevant to the problem to be honest Phil, though I may be wrong unsure.gif
