The Spanish Youth Team coach asked me on BBO tonight if we would be interested in participating in a League for Youth teams. It basically takes the format of 24 board matches arranged between team captains regarding times.

Do you all think this would be worthwhile? I think it could be invaluable. Only problems being internet and BBO access. The Spanish said most matches are played at weekends.

Here is a link to the website for it... League Thing

Can everyone give feedback please.

Catherine if you're interested then email me for the guy's email address.

Wow - how cool would that be! ohmy.gif A junior league AND you get to play brand new non-European teams AND it won't cost the SBU very much (if anything).

You should definately sign up for it and spread the word to England/Ireland/Wales- it's too good an opportunity to miss out on.

Juniors without regular internet access can borrow other people's computers - especially if it's at weekends because you can travel if necessary. (I'll volunteer mine)

I see they are linking to the junior's website - you definately need to get it updated asap.

Exactly David smile.gif

Myles and Gyles won't want to be travelling though tongue.gif

And the link is to this forum, not the actual website (which myles is beavering away on i think), i just asked the organiser to link to this.

Well i'll give this my support. The league is meant to begin in around 3 weeks. for anyone who cares.

On a more sombre note I have spotted that if they start a new division with the new teams we will play Poland. Its a real shame well have to beat them biggrin.gif

Sorry, emailed now. And double negatives! You must be angry :S Sorry tongue.gif

Sounds awesome. Wud love to see some of these physcotic 2NT both minors bids the eastern europeans(scandanavians)juniors love.

Oh and the chance to beat the poles twice in one year!!

Dunno about me and frank playing while we r in durham though. Certainly i know some older friends where i can go and play occasionally. And if it starts at 8 the one internet cafe(think) will b shut

Sounds fantastic!

I would certainly be interested. Wouldn't be able to play until after all my exams are over though.

Just to let you all know Catherine talked to the organiser and said we won't be participating just now because of the exam situation.

I'd have still liked us to try and play but oh well.

And oh yeh this makes it easier for us to arrange online friendly matches now, probably have one against Spain before July i think.
