Or similar do you just finesse the Queen and hope they split 2-2 or finesse the J? It bugs me everytime

Finesse the Q for no losers If you can afford 1 loser, but not 2, best play is to cash the Ace then lead towards the Q9 covering whatever is played by opp.

Like all combinations the way you play this one depends on how many tricks you are trying to make!
If you cannot afford to lose any tricks you should finesse the queen on the first round, playing for Kx onside, your best chance. If you can afford one loser but not two start by laying down the ace. If nothing appears cross to dummy and lead towards the remaining Q9xx. This loses only to KJx offside, when there is little to be done.
