Seriously, can i bid like this? Will anyone in the team mind?

I assume that you are talking about the biding over a strong 2c.

By all means! As the opponents usually/ allways have a game of some kind. Hand 1 is like a weak 2 in spades but you know its working an not screwing partner and the odds of you being doubled are tiny.
Hand 3 is another sure thing nothing much can go wrong there.
I am unsure about the bidding on board 2. One argument says, as it does on the website that if your partner raises to three you are in good shape. However it could also be said that if the 2c opener has a balance big han they may be driven out of 3nt, possibly missing the ace of diamonds or having to take a heart finesse into you. Anyone have any ideas?

Another topic in this general area is are you allowed to overcall a singleton or void and then redouble for takeout if they try to double you there. Needless to say this only is really an option at favourable vun.

So say it goes 2c and you hold QJxx
...............................................-------
...............................................T9xxx
............................................... KQxx

Or similar are you allowed to overcall 2h then redouble for takeout if it goes badly wrong. Of course the problem with this is that your partner might raise you an not see the funny side of you running to 5d. In order to solve this problem i suggest a special partnership agreement. It involves looking at your opponents and seeing if either of them look like this huh.gif if so do not raise.
On a slightly more serious note is it possible to play that if you overcall 2c at this vunrability partner does not bid (the same applies to preempts in 3rd seat at this vun) this allows you to come in on some really poor hands eg; At9xx x xxxx xxx (with a spade overcall in this case).
One other point, what should a double of 2c mean? It dosent make much sense to play it as natural as usually you will be on lead. Both majors possibly?

I think if you overcall 2H on this without your partner alerting, you'll be guilty of having an illegal partnership agreement, which will involve numerous director calls and procedural penalties. If partner has Axxxx of hearts here, failure to raise can be considered fielding the psyche, which will (quite rightly) get you a bollocking from the director.

Of course, you play something like a wonder-bid here (when your partner alerts 2H as either hearts or 3 suited without hearts) then this is perfectly ok. Indeed, I use this defence against a strong 1C.

Agreed Mark, very hard not to field the psyche here. If you play it as either H or a 3 suiter short in H then you can "raise" partner's hearts by bidding where you'd like to play if he has the 3 suiter, eg a 1354 would probably bid 3D. Now overcaller can pass or correct to 3H as appropriate.

Thats quite neat. Good thinking Micky.
