Hand 1
Solution:
If a led looks like a doub;eton and smells like a doublton, it probably is a doublton! Why should anyone lead from an AQ into a NT bidder?
Win the KD and assuming a 3/2 trump division, draw trump and exit wit JD ( keay play ) Note whren trumps are 4/1, a long suit is usually lead.
East on play with QD has an unhappy choice of plays. If East elects to exit a H, play the Q and if it is covered, you are reduced to the Club finesse. If East exits a C, the most you can lose is a H. If East exits a D, ruff in your hand and discard a H from dummy. You now have to play clubs for 1 loser. The best play is low to the K. low to the A and then low to the J if the Q hasn't appered.
