Mercer Announces Future Squad Event

On the 5th of June (tbc) there is an Under 20s Future Squad event being held in Dundee. Joan Mercer has organised this as a talent-spotting opportunity. Scouts from some of the top teams in Scotland will be there looking for future stars to carry the Scotland flag in the near future. All players are welcome, you do not need to be affiliated to a school or club, merely know how to play bridge. Partnerships are preferable but if you come on your own we'll match you up and you may get to play with a current junior (I can feel Gordy's excitement from here).

Transport costs should be refunded by the SBU i think Joan said.

I am helping at this event as I'm banned from playing

I'm hoping to bring 4 Hutchie pairs but our problem is transport if the date is the 5th. The trains are not very feasible as it would mean a 7.50 departure but this would be my last hope. I know Frazer is going to speak to his dad but I was wondering if anyone else will be in Glasgow going through to Dundee for this and could give a lift (David, Catherine, Joey?).

I figure we'd need 10 spots maximum in cars, which is 3 cars. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I am heading up to look for talent for the Dalriada U16 youth team.

I can fit two or three in my car - maybe even four if Kerry decides she no longer wants to go shopping in Dundee for the day.

Let me know if you need transport asap because I am on holiday that week and may decide instead to head up north if the weather is nice and make my way back down via Dundee on the Sunday.

PS Any chance you can get something new on the website before then so that Joan can promote it to them all?

My dad isnt home on that day so there is no chance of a lift from me.
