Sorry if i'm being stupid but, what if your answer to part one isn't two spades? doesn't this mean that the second bit wouldn't really happen?

I presume that we are using the same hands for parts 1 & 2. Is the order c,d,h,s as i'm not used to your bridge notation?

I agree with Phil unless we answer 2S in part i how can we do ii

Do we just do part ii for the ones from i that we did answer 2S?
Do we assume we bid 2S and now have to back track?
Does partner raise anything to 3S(if he can)?
Or is it more a general principle question?
Or perhaps a more open ended U decide biggrin.gif

I agree with what has been previously said but what system are we playing?

Are we to bid as we would in our own partnership and explain what that bid means as well as why were doing it?

Yes part 2 only applies to the ones wher you respond 2S, and yes I need partnership understandings! Please do not discuss with partner as I would like to check that each member of the partnership is doing the same thing!
Gingerbread....what is your name????? rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Bridge hands are ALWAYS given in the order S H D C!!!

im sending u mine on Monday hope thats ok. and not late

mr1303- 06-17-2005
Maybe a year late, but here are my answers

1) 2S. Looks fairly obvious to me.....
2) 3S. Pre-emptive
3) 2D. 3 card limit-or-better raise
4) 2S. Don't let the 4th trump fool you. All your points apart from the spade Q are in opps suits
5) XX. Denies a spade honour, but shows 3 card support or better
6) Ditto. For the same reasons
7) 3D. 4 card limit raise or better. Not quite enough for a splinter.

1 and 4) Pass. 3S is not invitational.
